CSS Minifier

Minify CSS for faster-loading websites.

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is sent or stored anywhere.

About this tool

Every kilobyte of CSS is a kilobyte your visitors download before the page looks right. Minification strips the comments, indentation, and whitespace that humans need but browsers don't, typically shrinking stylesheets by 20–40%. This free tool does it instantly in your browser: paste, minify, copy.

The minifier is deliberately conservative. It removes what's provably safe, comments, extra whitespace, trailing semicolons, without restructuring your rules or merging selectors, so what renders before is what renders after. The live size comparison shows exactly how many bytes you saved.

How to use the css minifier

  1. 1Paste your CSS into the input box.
  2. 2Click Minify (or watch it minify live).
  3. 3See the minified output with original vs. minified size and savings %.
  4. 4Copy the minified CSS into your production stylesheet.

Good to know

Keep your readable source files for development and serve the minified output in production. Everything runs locally, your proprietary stylesheets never leave your device.

Frequently asked questions

Comments, unnecessary whitespace, and redundant formatting, everything that doesn't change how the CSS renders. Selectors, properties, and values stay intact.
