Timestamp Converter

Convert Unix timestamps to dates and dates to timestamps, instantly.

Date → timestamp

Everything runs in your browser, nothing is sent or stored anywhere. Values smaller than 1,000,000,000,000 are treated as seconds; larger ones as milliseconds.

About this tool

A Unix timestamp converter turns the raw numbers your logs, APIs, and databases store into dates you can actually read. Paste an epoch value in seconds or milliseconds and get the UTC time, your local time, the ISO 8601 form, and a plain-English relative time like “3 days ago”, all at once, with a copy button on every row.

The converter works in both directions. Use the date picker to choose a date and time in your own timezone and get back the exact timestamp in seconds and milliseconds, which is handy when you need to seed test data, set cron schedules, or debug time-based logic. The “Now” button on each side fills in the current time so you never have to leave the page.

How to use the timestamp converter

  1. 1Paste a Unix timestamp (seconds or milliseconds are auto-detected) or pick a date and time.
  2. 2Click the “Now” button on either side to fill in the current time.
  3. 3Review the UTC, local, ISO 8601, and relative-time results for a timestamp.
  4. 4Copy any value with its copy button and paste it into your code or logs.

Good to know

Every calculation happens client-side in your browser, so timestamps from your production systems never travel over the network. The tool auto-detects whether your input is seconds or milliseconds and tells you which one it used, removing the most common source of off-by-a-thousand mistakes.

Frequently asked questions

This tool auto-detects it: values below 1,000,000,000,000 are treated as seconds, larger ones as milliseconds. The detected unit is shown above the results, so you can confirm it matches your data.
